Brief Overview

This Largest remote park is found in southern Tanzania. The convergence of vegetation zone in this huge Park has resulted in unusual combination of animals ,Particularly Greater and Lesser Kudu, together with sable and roan antelopes in the Park a feature that is not found in other National Park in the country.

Key animals found in Ruaha National Park includes elephant ,zebra, lion, giraffe, hunting dog, ostrich, greater and lesser kudu, grants gazelles, striped hyena, sable and roan antelopes, crocodile and hippos mainly in Ruaha River. More than 540 species of birds have been recorded in this Park.

Ruaha National Park, located in south-central Tanzania, is the largest national park in the country, covering an impressive 20,226 square kilometers (7,809 square miles). It is renowned for its remote and unspoiled wilderness, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife, offering a more secluded and intimate safari experience compared to the more famous northern parks like Serengeti.

Ruaha is known for its vast and diverse landscapes, including rolling savannahs, rocky outcrops, baobab-studded hills, acacia woodlands, and the mighty Ruaha River that meanders through the park. The river serves as a lifeline for the park’s wildlife and creates dramatic scenery, especially during the dry season.

With over 570 bird species, Ruaha is a birdwatcher’s paradise. It is home to both resident and migratory species, including hornbills, sunbirds, kingfishers, and storks.
