Day 1: Dar es salaam to Mikumi national park
After enjoying your breakfast, our driver/guide will collect you from the hotel at 6:30am. We will then embark on a journey to Mikumi National Park, with an estimated arrival time of 12:00pm. Upon reaching the park, you will have lunch and begin your afternoon tour, which will continue until sunset. Afterwards, we will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation
Day 2: Full day Mikumi national park
On this second day, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of Mikumi National Park. With its diverse range of wildlife and breathtaking landscapes, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. As you explore the park, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife, from majestic elephants to vibrant bird species. After a day filled with thrilling sightings and experiences, enjoy a delicious lunch in the park before heading back to the lodge for a relaxing evening, complete with a delectable dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 3: Mikumi to Selous (Boat safari)
After your breakfast in the morning, embark on a thrilling journey to Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous. Although it may be a long ride, the experience is well worth it as you will pass through various villages, providing a glimpse into local lifestyles and cultural traditions. Upon arrival, check in and then venture out onto the boat to discover the magnificent Lake Rufiji, where you can witness crocodiles, hippos, birds on the shore, and even water lizards in their natural habitat.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Selous
After you breakfast you will head into the park for a full day game drive.
Nyerere National Park is a treasure trove of wildlife diversity, offering visitors the chance to see a wide array of iconic and rare African animals in their natural habitat. The combination of vast landscapes, rich waterways, and abundant wildlife makes it a must-visit destination for any safari enthusiast.
Day 5: Walking safari then more game drive in Selous
Early in the morning, you will embark on a two-hour walking safari. Afterward, you will return to the lodge for breakfast. Once you have finished your meal, you will be picked up for another game drive in the park, continuing until sunset. In the evening, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Selous to Mafia Island
On the scheduled day, you will commence the journey from Selous/Nyerere National Park to Mafia Island via Kilindoni town, where a boat will be boarded for the onward trip to Mafia Island. The overland travel duration from Selous to Kilindoni is estimated to be between 4 to 5 hours. Upon arrival at Kilindoni, you will proceed with the check-in process at the designated hotel.
Day 7: Snorkeling.
On this day you will do snorkelling at Chole Bay the most popular snorkelling sites in the island with the colourful coral garden.
Day 8: Free day at beach hotel
On this day you will spend your day free at the beach relaxing, though you are not limited to do whatever you feel like on your day of relaxing.
Day 9: Mafia-Fly to Dar es salaam
After a long adventurous journey, on this 9th day you will be picked from hotel to the airport where you will be taken to Dar es salaam, on arrival in Dar es salaam you will either be left at the airport or taken to the hotel depending on your request.
